Not illustrated. 1906 Excerpt: ...Company on December 25. KENTUCKY. Louisville.--A. Booth 'and Company, Chicago, III., will expend $30,000 in the erection of an ice and cold storage plant here. Louisville.--A new ice company is being formed and plans are being considered for the erection of a large ice plant to cost in the neighborhood of $100,000, and will include a cold storage warehouse. John T. Garaghty, of the Monongahela River Consolidated Coal and Coke Company, and Patrick J. Regan, of the Citizens' Ice Company, are. interested. The name of the new company will probably be the American Ice and Refrigerating Company. Louisville.--William and C. A. Heuser, of this city; R. W. Furnas, Indianapolis, Ind., and others have incorporated the National Ice Cream Company, with a capital of $60,000. The property at Nos. 114-116 East Broadway has been acquired, upon which a large ice cream factory, dairy and ice manufacturing plant will be built. A 100-ton ice machine has been purchased from the Henry Vogt Machine Company, otherwise the company is in the market for equipment. Louisville.--The Merchants' Ice and Cold Storage Company has been incorporated with a capital of $1,500,000 for the purpose of taking over the plants and holdings of the Merchants' Refrigerating Company. The increased capitalization has been provided for the purpose of making several improvements. Among these improvements will be the erection of a branch plant on Seventh street, south of Oak street. Charles W. Inman, at present president of the old company; Henry Vogt and A. B. Schwartz are at the head of the new company. With the exception of the Duffy Ice Company, which owns the plant formerly operated by the Inman Ice Company, and the Parker Ice Company, the new company owns every ice plant in Louisville.
